There Are Some Very Good Free Encryption Software Packages Available

You Have a Lock on Your Front Door, Don’t You?

• You may think there is no need to encrypt your data unless you work for MI5, but most people have documents / photographs on their computers that they would not want others to have access to
• Even if your computer is not lost or stolen, if you spend a lot of time on-line there is always the possibility that someone could gain remote access to your private documents (see ‘malware’)
• Whilst it will not necessarily stop the most determined hacker, encryption software will certainly reduce the chances of someone accessing your data
• Why not create a series of folders to hold encrypted files, one for finance, one for health etc.?
